Macros like Melissa, are quite common in the workplace. These however, are very easy to detect. If the user has there security set to anything above 'no security', a message box will appear asking if the macro should be run. Selecting Yes, then brings up another message warning you that the macro could be harmful to your system. Anyone who ignores these warnings takes matters into their own hands.

I remember the last one I encountered, it merely removed every occurrence of the word "not". Now image a million dollar contract produced in Word, and email via Outlook.

"I will not be able to attend the meeting."

If other software mattered, then they too would fall victim to such attacks. After all, who cares about the 162 people not using Microsoft. Let them live in virus free bliss.... I will stick with Microsoft.

Stephen, Frank or anyone - I have a question. The May issue of Red Herring Magazine contains a bar graph showing US originated traffic loads of carriers based in the US for different types of traffic for the years 1996-2003. The different types of traffic shown in the graph are circuit switched, data, voice over IP and Internet. I understand the first three but how does Internet traffic differ from the first three?
