In a sense they exist. For cars we have the concept of licenses, insurance, traffic laws, enforcement, etc.

With food there are any number of agencies, e.g, USDA, FDA, etc. Whose job is quality control.

I simply want you to understand that MS is culpable and that they have a corporate responsibility to produce secure code. They should not get a free pass here.

This little incident with Melissa is starting to making me think that all MS code should go in the public domain so that it can be investigated for more secrets and problems.
