Gonorth,
I thought you were going away?
No, the answer to your question is a very big NO. Amazon will give Ebay a run for their money. The auction Amazon is involved in is like Ebay's, NOT Bid.com.

GoNorth, just shows you how much you really know about BIDS and AMZN. AMZN is opening a consumer-to-consumer auction, nothing at all like BIDS. They don't even compete.

P.S. Still leaves room open for a buyout, doesn't it?

P.P.S. Now we have two sets of questions you should be answering for us all. (1) Did you ever read the 20F? (2) Why not BII on TSE300?

Just shows your total ignorance in this whole situation.

GoNorth: I guess it's like the Toronto Star said this morning in that report - "the online auctioneering pie is forecast to expand enough for even small players to generate millions in revenue". "A January survey from Jupiter Communications predicted the industry will generate $3.2 billion (US) a year by 2002 with buyers surging to 6.5 million in the U.S. alone from 1.2 million last year". -- What about Europe, Canada, Asia, etc.?? ---What sticks in my memory was that CNN- TV EBAY interview when the commentator said in the USA alone sales in auction, garage sales, classified ad sales, and flea markets etc. was estimated to be US$100 billion (Cdn$150 billion), so I suppose Bid.Com could get a slice of that, they are in the top five.???
