That doesn't necessarily prove anything, it just means you have the popular threads bookmarked. I've never had that happen (which implies either I am boring because I bookmark the boring threads, or I am not boring but I am bookmarking the boring threads, or that I am not boring, just unlucky).

We need to know from the source how their algorithm works. If it resets the counts based on what was displayed thats fine with me.

if its just blindly resetting the counts, then there is potential for lost message notification (as 'new').

I agree with you.

I have the same thing happen, because I have so damn many threads BMed.

When I click clear, I immedietly click to inbox, and then the threads with new messages reflect that for a second until the screen changes to "you have no new messages" :(

p.s. David L., or anyone that might know. Is there a limit to how many threads you can BM? I must be pushing 100, though a number of them are quite inactive.

edit in: I see Bob has given an explaination.
