Hello CPUers,

I am a refugee from the Yahoo boards.
I am long CPU and have been for 7 years.
I have read through the last 100 or so posts and I am impressed with the amount of knowledge and the civility of the posters.

Wanted to add my two cents on yesterdays sales release...

First, sales are not up except for the acquisition. The increase is due to CCI stores almost entirely. Second, The Direct or "CPUnet" business went from 83million in the previous qtr to 68.2 million this quarter???? 100% increase of an unknown number for internet sales isn't very forthcoming or impressive if you compare it against COOLs growth at it's size.

The unit sales increases for notebook and laptops can partially be contributed to the CCI acquisition as well. (Maybe 20%)

A very important tid bit is the sentence that states that ASPs for desktops were flat compared to last quarter (notebooks decreased by 3%). I would say these have been on a downward slide for the last five quarters. This helps SSS and the BTO line.

Glad to be here...

Mark

<<It's a Wall Street anti-darling
in my opinion. With a Wall Street darling stock (e.g. AMZN), bad
news is almost completely ignored and even the slightest trace of
good news sends the stock higher. With an anti-darling stock like
CPU, good news only causes a temporary spike which those that have
already lost big sell into.>>

Good, this means there are more people out there to buy the stock
