Digital Me Privacy Club.... >>Founding Member: Paul Fiondella>> Second Founding Member - an original non-geek: Frederick Smart Date of First Loss of Identity: 1976 when The NU Wildcats recast me from being a walk- on Quarterback to a wide receiver. Circumstances: There were 5 other quarterbacks and I, at 175 pounds, despite gorging on bannana ice cream milkshakes, could not gain another pound. Went through the mill getting creamed going out for passes. Broke my hand. Was a great one-handed catcher before deciding BIG 10 football was not for me...... Date of Most Serious Loss of Identity: 1984 while member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Circumstances: Filling 5-25 lots on the gold and S&P's were nothing compared to the challenge of filling my first 200 lot MOC order with 60 seconds notice - and all to be done within the last 30 seconds. Still have dreams of 50+ lunatic traders eating my eyes, ears, and head at I was devoured on the top step of the S&P pit. Stripped of my trading virginity, I peeled myself off the floor and dragged myself back to the office, having overpaid on the last 40 contracts. Reason for membership: Taking risks, thinking creatively while looking out for the little guy is in my family's blood. FREE societies encourage risk taking by offering rewards for playing fair. If getting the unfair players means restricting our ability to take risks then we should take the bull by the horns and be sure to claim our privacy and freedom through individual channels BEFORE others close the door. Other qualifications: Believe privacy is THE key to freedom. Also, have an ongoing mission to help others claim this individual freedom by trying to encourage people from challenged walks of life to think BIG - homeless, former drug abusers, battered women, couples with kids. Possible disqualification: 1) admire Nixon - the king of the plumbers who started the politics of destruction movement 25 years ago; 2) Leave too much of a trail - i.e. too long winded. GO!
