Just found this thread. I found out that you can purchase Softbank shares here under the symbol SFTBF. Schwab makes a market in the stock, it must be bought in lots of 100 shares. The bid/ask spread can be high as Schwab buys shares into the Tokyo market overnight. I am buying shares through my broker at Olde. Don't know if you can buy shares through an online broker. I received an article yesterday which lists the holdings of Softbank, an impressive company, that looks like it has a lot of upside. Regards, Debra

jay,
you're the victim for our lazy questions!

what are the accounting rules in japan? are japanese companies allowed
to put "not realized gains" of holdings into their balance sheet?

in germany there is a strict rule that just allowes to show the purchasing price or a lower market price. it is not allowed to go for
a higher market price.

btw. does anybody have a balance sheet or an annual report of
SUPER-SOFTBANK?

:-)
