One thing that I admire about Tanner's and our new management team is that they are being very selective about new sites. They aren't just building new stores anywhere that they can. After all, Harvest had properties in Texas available for development through the Hartan subsidiary, but these weren't utilized because there are greater opportunities for profitable stores elsewhere. Focusing on unit economics and closing underperforming stores will benefit us in the longrun as long as the new sites are successful, and I believe that Tanner's management has the necessary experience and savvy (and now the necessary capital) to get us into the black on schedule. (4th quarter, 1999) I'll also be very interested to see whether they can sign any significant franchisee agreements this year. The language in the annual report about the expansion of the franchise program makes me very hopeful for the future.
