would normally agree with you to 'sell on news' but the short PR machine did enough psychological damage to make some prospective investors nervous. The FDA approval puts BTIM on much more fundamentally secure ground even though it is a given.

Ok, I buy that argument to some degree. But, these so called nervous investors who might be inclined to buy NOW are also going to be the weakest hands and will be easily shaken out in any price drop.

Also, most stocks that 'sell on news' do not have over 1/3 of the float in short positions. Many people think that there are more than 3M shares short, 750k more than the official count.

The "squeeze" factor doesn't come into play unless one of two things happen IMO: 1. The underlying stock makes and sustains a huge run up in a short time. 2. The underlying fundamentals of the stock change.

#1 is still a possibility, but #2 has not happened (to date).

There is nothing magic about 19 3/8 - a level held for a matter of minutes during an intraday high. I think the level that needs to hold is in the mid 18's personally.

Fair enough ... stock's at 18 15/16 bid currently. Let's see how it closes.
