Thankfully, it will be peaceful, but the economic impact is likely to be dreadful, and the Quebec government is likely to harrass the non- French community, which is substantial, and much of which has been there for generations, until it leaves. Besides, Canada will probably fall apart. There are those in the Prairie Provinces who would like to secede in that event, and join with the United States. Also, I would anticipate a lot of hostility towards Francophones in the other provinces, especially Ontario. But the main thing is that borders cannot be continually subject to revision, and if they are, negotiation is almost always preferable....
