Paul,

I was attempting to draw an analogy to MSFT. My statements were completely theoretical. I am not trying to say ANYTHING about MSFT.

This is what I am asking:

Will the govt (the FTC) be allowed to theoretically dictate Intel's prices in the higher margin segment of it's product line, assuming that (1) amd goes under, and (2) the ftc wins an antitrust case against Intel, keeping in mind that this market segment is NOT currently dominated by Intel?

Obviously, if AMD were to sink, then the ftc would have stronger case about Intel's position in the PC market, but I'm wondering about servers.

I am asking this question honestly, I don't have a hidden agenda, I would really like to know the answer. It may be irrelevant as neither 1 nor 2 are givens.

Thanks,
Chris
