I think it makes sense to look at things from Datek's point of view as well. As a customer, the natural tendency is to always ask "how much more can I get" - but without seeing it from the side of the provider. Some things are realistic, some not. I'd much rather keep the low commissions than pay more, and have checking. Ulitmately, I have faith in Datek. I've done quite a bit of research on brokers, and it is my firm conviction, that at this time, Datek represents outstanding value to it's customers. But, they have their limitations. Still, if they were to ever go public - I'd buy their stock in a heartbeat.
