The last product, that I can think of, that the government has tried to regulate the price of was prescription drugs. There is certainly a greater argument for fixing prices on certain drugs than there is on a chip. Additionally, the government is a major buyer of drugs, not so with microprocessors. If this did one day happen, it would be many years in the future and would fail miserably. IMO.

Besides, George W. Bush will be president soon and the attack dogs will be leashed in.
