The browser is logged on, but if it treated the email attachment as a separate object with no permissions then the attachment file would have no access to the email services that the browser has permissions to use.

In essence a script/macro is already encapsulated by the interpretor which executes it. A well-written macro facility could provide very tight security if it desired to do so.
