Jeffrey D,

Thanks for the rundown.

Particularly interested to hear the food selection ... G was a bit conservative when he described the offerings ...

Ice cream and brownies certainly make up for the absence of meat or meat-like products ...

Jeffrey, re >>I do, however, feel they were more optimistic about the long term and less short term.<<

That's human nature. We should not let out guard down. The order
recovery this time could even be quite different from the last cycle.
It could stay flat for a few months, then go higher. Just guessing
here. The optimism in the room was probably due to the decent level
of the stock price, mainly. Nobody asked any hard questions.

>>My impression was the change was caused by DRAM, and DRAM'S violent cycles, becoming less of a driving force in the industry<<

Yes, he said PCs contain $400 of silicon and cars $230. Cell phones
$50. But does your average stock trader know that?

Gottfried/Tony/Jeffrey,

Thanks for the notes on the meeting. It's interesting that each commented on the food choices. Maybe during the upturn they'll be serving caviar:-)

I hope to go next year. Perhaps we can sit in the SI section<GGG>
