It may be my imagination, but I've seen this type of behavior sometimes on fridays when Barrons' is about to run a nice write up.

I agree with the strange close; at 3:50 or so I was trying to get back in at 31 1/4 and had 1/4 on the bid, but never filled, then went up to 3/8 and got it(had hoped to get it at 31 even but it wouldn't go down; checked a couple other stocks, and came back and the bid was 11/16! My quotes at 4:09 had the close at 32 and later that night, 32 1/4!?
