The mode of alliance is clear ... directly and indirectly, 9984 controls the alliances and can do GAAP accounting on consolidated basis (treat the revenue of alliances on pro-rata basis as own revenue), better to show bulk when eventual US debut takes place. Further, 9984 already had shares in Broadcast, as it did in Geocities ... take stock from left pocket, combine with stock from right pocket, walk away with another billion Yen of capitalization; and better still, Invest US$ 400,000 in a JV with Microsoft and Yahoo! and watch own market cap increase 25%. Now, imagine what is achievable with 70 portfolio companies!
