I bought UNPH based on a Gilder newsletter I read last year that indicated UNPH would be the INTC of fiber. Gilder seems to call some good technology plays (QWST, GBLX, QCOM), although he calls them 1 or 2 years before they take off. Others have yet to move (CIEN, ATML, NSM).

I was watching UNPH last year and it is now a core holding for me. I was shaken out of my QWST, SUNW, QCOM and INTC last fall due to margin problems. I also hold HLIT and BRCM and am thinking about GBLX. Missed QCOM @ 80. What are your thoughts on other fiber companies (eg. GLW)?

Judy, Dear, I wish you would have asked that question last Oct.-Dec.?<g>

I see lots of good earnings plays coming....but am very concerned about overall overbought market.....very cautious now....I hope to analyse closer this evening...instead of finishing the dreaded tax return.<g>
