scumbria - Alpha 21264 500 MHz - 91 Watts Power Dissipation 600 MHz - 105 Watts Power Dissipation Die size - 314 sq. mm. - almost TWICE the size of the Kmart 7 and 260% LARGER than the Pentium III. Alpha customers - Compaq and ????? This is a DEAD END - but then you LOVE Dead Ends, don't you? Paul

S, It is positioning systems against Intel Xeon machines and claims they are comprehensively outgunned. ® Not where it counts. Someone should clue in Samsung and API, whoever that is, that Intel has cost, compatibility and overwhelming brand preference on its side. Sheer performance doesn't matter, witness SGI right now. Tony
