BAM, how do you figure?

>>>If Glaser can be convinced that *scale* counts for more than *independence*, RNWK will merge<<<

RG convinced me today that independence counts for more, in the long run, than scale in terms of the RNWK business model. Yes, in most net applications size is key. But with this vastly expanding new technology, it seems that the technology itself is much more critical than the scale. Keeping a big technical lead while cultivating and maintaining alliances with all the major players should provide tremendous growth over the next three to five years. Seems like a winning strategy. If ever acquired, RNWK's pure growth opportunity would then be terribly diluted. What am I missing here BAM?

Clearly, Cuban baited the media (about 3 or 4 weeks ago) and forced RG to publicly state his intention of remaining independent. By doing this he made clear that BCST was a unique acquisition opportunity. Further, flushing out RG on this issue made clear that RNWK would continue to be available long term as their source of server software. In any case, RG could not be any clearer on this issue. And we all know that without his block vote, there will be no acquisition. Yet the discussion continues, why?

What would you say to RG, BAM, to convince him that he, his employees, and his shareholders would be better off through a merger? Just what does scale offer a company that it appears will dominate streaming media, anyhow, independently?

Thanks again BAM for all your guidance with this industry.
