Another view of the insurance question. eBay has provided a form for buyers and sellers to come together. Simple. Let's complicate this thing into the grave. We'll demand perfection, that's it, let's make it perfect. Every buyer and every seller must be completely satisfied, 100% satisfaction guaranteed. What we need is a social security program for cyberspace auctions. Each registered user will put a percentage of their sales into the pot and eBay will administer the fund. For each auction that doesn't sell you receive one credit. For each auction you bid on but don't win you get two credits. If your not satisfied with your purchase, three credits. If the buyer's check is NG you win the jackpot. Etc etc etc. Someone said, "if it aint broke don't fix it". I haven't been involved in 1000 auctions yet, so I haven't run into that bum ebayer that screwed me. When it happens, I'll bet it was my carelessness that led to the problem. Why not selfinsure yourself. Use the telephone, use the feedback form, when in doubt don't do the deal. I have not only been satisfied with eBay, I am amazed at the experiences I've had.
