<< ornate graveyards of their beloved
Serbian/Orthodox church.>>

Don't start this. Orthadox Christian Church is not better or worse then Catholics, Baptists, Pentacostals, or whatever branches of Christian religion there are. Or Mouslims, Buddists,... you name them.
Those are the kind of remarks that start wars.

nuke44 -- 1st I found Milosevic too be very realistic about his plight -- you never hear about how he was a banker in NY City for years. I do not believe he will cave in the face of NATO bombing -- we are only making him stronger internally (within Serbia) the more we bomb. NATO bombing of Montenegro was incredible blunder -- Montenegro is trying to pull away from Milosevic as fast as possible -- if Montenegro leaves there is no Yugoslavia Federation -- which means Milosevic holds no office. Militenovic is President of Serbia -- Milosovic is President of Yugoslav Federation without Montenegro there is no Yugoslav Federation -- so what do we do -- We bomb Montenegro and ensuing casualties -- driving Montenegro closer to Milosevic. Now NATO commanders are saying they won't be bombing Montenegro anymore -- whoops.... the fact that they did not understand this before they picked their targets is pretty telling.

On Thesaloniki -- there are only three paths that make any sense militarily -- Albania ain't one of them. The nation is among the poorest in the region -- roads unpassable in many places except by ox-cart.
NATO ground forces would most likely come down through Hungary -- Hungary is new to NATO and there is a clear path straight to Belgrade that an armored division could move through quite easily. Thesaloniki is another route but I don't think the Greek Government would want to allow this. PASOK would be reticent to allow an attack by NATO launched Greek soil --particulary with the close relationship between the Serbs both on allied WWII grounds as well as the religious connection with the Orthodox church. The only other option would be from Germany through Croatia -- not likely as it risks drawing the Bosnia ghosts back into the fray -- and any NATO launch from German soil would roil the Serbs -- I myself find it amazing the German pilots are being allowed by NATO to fly missions against the Serbs -- this too shows lack of historical perspective in the campaign we are waging.

Tito's Palace is an amazing place -- truly historic -- I would hate to see it destroyed -- but I think if we took it out -- it would have an impact on Milosevic -- I think that might make him see his own personal vulnerability. He is a very determined, but isolated. In the end even if we took out the Palace I doubt he will cave. He knows we are making him stronger for the time being at least.
