Scubria, Re<<Do you think that plummeting CPU prices are going to help Intel?>>

Of course not. But you must admit that it hurts AMD more than it hurts Intel.

scum bria - re: "Do you think that plummeting CPU prices are going to help Intel?"

I certainly KNOW that plummeting AMD CPU prices will help Intel !

The price-dump indicates a major swing in the supply/demand patterns - where AMD's CPUs are not so much in demand. Ergo, my guess is Intel is re-gaining market share rather nicely.

Further, AMD is faced with severe (SIGNIFICANT) losses, shareholder suits, layoffs, restructuring. All these de-focus AMD's management even more than they usually are !

With deep losses, they must forego "luxuries" and cut back on NECESSITIES in their product development cycles. New equipment orders are delayed pushing back production ramps.

Meanwhile, every quarter, Intel is pocketing enough PROFITS to build and fully equip a brand new WAFER FABRICATION FACILITY - if they needed it.

EVERY QUARTER Intel could do this with $1.6 to $2.0 BILLION in PROFITS !

That's enough to cause Cherry Sander's Mercedes to spin out of control!
