If anyone is having trouble getting a connection , in some areas you need to call your ISP and ask to be put on the level 2 network. They usually only allow business customer's who use tunnelling VPN's on the new network, but if you complain hard enough , they will do it. After that it's plain sailing, the voice packets are then priorotized and get processed before the regular 'net stuf, making it more like a regular 64K voice line.

My question is: why would someone go through the trouble to make a nice looking web site (Also, see webnode.com), just for April 1?

So long as Randy Frnakle and Jeff whatshisname over on webnode have nothing better to do, why not build a great site for me?

What's most amazing about these two "companies" is the amount of greed they generated in a bunch of "investors." Of course, the same 4 people have posted 70% of the hype on this page, so maybe I needn't say investorS (At any rate, what's to invest in?).

Congratulations, Randy & Jeff (Webnode). The thought of people all over the world, yelling at their computer screens ("Please speak louder."), and giving their contact details to Webnode in order to secure "real estate" on the 'Net IS hilarious.

This one looks real good.
I worry about the last 8 bits of that 32 bit channel but it really doesn't matter. It gets rid of at least 4 two bit opinions simultaneously. This could be viewed as a technology advancement.
If these two bit opinions are really dreamed necessary, I think they could appeal for a surcharge, levying extra fees for this 2 bit service. With these fees, I believe that sufficient revenue would be generated to acquire another.

I hear rumors, btw, that several companies like sbc, att, and a couple of unmentionables, are looking over their shoulders and considering similar services.
There are possibilities here that haven't been fully explored.
