Havrey O : In America we cannot get people to buy fuel efficient cars - our most popular are the SUV's with BIG v8, that look similar to tanks. Why would anybody think that alternate fuel cars have any hope of success with gas locally here at 96c a gallon. Its not going to happen. When gas gets to $2.50 + a gallon then we will see a switch to fuel efficient engines using Direct fuel injection after that when gas gets to $5.00 + then we may see some alternate fuel cars
but not before IMO. All this press that the Detroit car makers are getting on fuel efficient cars is a delaying tactic to stop the EPA from making the emissions controls tighter.
