Just some thoughts on WIND price, or lack thereof. I like many of you have watched in wonder at the decline even adding on the dip when HQ did it's dump. A large part I believe has been mentioned as the general disinterest in software (Y2K etc.) as well as the small cap difficulties.

I have only to look at my own recent purchases over the last months to see the major reason. I, a conservative investor for the most part have been buying internet stocks, CMGI PCNTF etc.and watching them go up at parabolic rates. I discover I have sold Microsoft except for my leaps, dumped all of my slow but steady and losers, and am riding the tulip bubble. I suspect that many who would be leaping on WIND are doing the same thing.

I won't sell WIND but that is only because I see it may be a longer term beneficiary of the internet growth, a fact that I doubt is in the forefront of the average investors mind.

On the other hand rather than buying more here I find myself looking longingly at UNPH, ATHM, NTAP and even AOL with the extra cash I have. I suspect that I reflect a very common buyer who would ordinarily be a WIND buyer. I equally suspect that many of you are doing the same thing.

Allen...you make it sound like all software stocks are getting sold off...this couldn't be farther from the truth...we are right in the middle of the greatest software bull market in the history of the world !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only catch is you have to be in the internet software sector to participate !!!!! MSFT is not the only software stock making new highs each day....NSCP soared nearly 10-fold over the past year, EPAY shot up 5-fold out of the gate, and many small internet software stocks are going up 50% or more each day !!!!!

Granted ERP software companies are in the dumps and so are other sectors...WIND is getting trashed for some reason (I guess they haven't made their "we are really an internet play" pitch loud enough yet), but this is a BULL MARKET, not a BEAR MARKET !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This may be "spring of '97" for WIND, but this IS NOT SPRING OF '97 for software/tech stocks in general !!!! Making money these days is like shooting fish in a barrel...it wasn't that way back in spring of '97...you just happen to have your gun aimed at the wrong barrel, it appears....

Jimbo.
