And another way to look at this... The company is raising cash for acquisitions as a way to expand 'ala Cisco. Using stock to acquire private companies is difficult because the owners seldom want to be tied up with restricted stock. Cash is better and by using the convertible bonds you are getting the best of both worlds. i.e. you get to use cash for acquisitions but you are paying zero interest as the debt will actually be swapped for stock. I think management is smart.
Of course this is just my opinion and what the hell do I know anyway. But as we are all throwing out theories I thought I'd add one. :):)
