this sure is a wishy washy report ... notice the wide range in forecast revenue

so ... if they hit near the high end of 4% increase, the stock will rally back up
if they hit near the low end of 8% decline, the stock will not rally at all

Documentum sees Q1 oper loss, $23-26 mln in revs

PLEASANTON, Calif., April 1 (Reuters) - Documentum Inc. (Nasdaq:DCTM - news)
said Thursday it expects to report total revenue in the range of about $23 million to $26 million and a significant operating loss for the first quarter.

The company said its revenue forecast would represent anywhere between an eight percent decline to a four percent increase compared to revenue in the first quarter of 1998.

First Call consensus estimates forecasted the company to earn $0.14 per share in teh first quarter.

Revenue growth was hurt by a general industry slowdown in customer license sales for enterprise software applications and difficulties the company experienced closing large license contracts with customers in the first quarter of 1999.

Documentum also said it expects license revenue in the quarter to be substantially below the license revenue in the year-ago period.

DCTM: Didn t bounce because most traders didn t want to go home long and most were not even in Thursday due to Passover and Holiday eve. Monday should be more indicative of DTCM action.

then again what the heck do I know?
