Trudge

My bones are tired
And my blood runs slow
My eyelids are heavy
And if you want to know
I could care less about the Army
Because I'm no G.I. Joe

So when the sergeant
Tells me to go, go, go
I look like I'm going fast
But I'm really going slow

Integrity

At Grandmother's funeral
Bishop Branchflower said:
Who among us will testify on our Sister's behalf?

A man spoke of his childhood
Depression times, a simple gift of Grandmother's eggs.
Many others, mostly strangers to me, spoke of her good character.

They taught me a truth.
We travel to Heaven naked,
Stripped of possessions, vanities, delusions.

All we can carry
When laid in the grave
Is the words of the people gathered round it.

Knowing this,
Grandmother lived her life
Rich in grace and unpremeditated kindnesses, accumulating

Integrity.
