c.d.,

Strain Consultants is not a hired gun per se but I understand they indirectly get compensated for writing up companies. The thing you gotta keep in mind is that its either that or nothing for these microcaps. The buy-side analysts at the brokerage houses do not touch these small companies.

Strain's reports are very factual and the best part about them is that he usually attaches computations of his cash flow and break-up value calcs. This then allows the reader to make whatever adjustments one wishes if they think Chuck is getting too optimistic. Chuck tends to get carried away on the break-up value calcs. especially. I just make the adjustments I feel like and I have what I need.

That well you are refering to was in fact the Howell well, a Benz well. Texstar is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Benz. As far as I understand they completed it in THREE ZONES all at once! Pretty cool stuff if you ask me.

The Mexicans have a saying, as follows: "In the land of the blind the one-eyed man is King". I don't expect you to know everything but as little as I know about O&G field stuff, you are light-years ahead of where I am.

Obviously there is no pressure here. Hang out here as long or as short as you please. We are all big boys and take responsibility for our own actions.

Given that this thread has a grand total of about 3 active participants, I don't think it would be all that bad if you want to expand our discussion to other stocks. What else do you like these days?

Benz is about to become a US company so therefore the applicable form they need to file to register their shares is a Form 10SB I believe. Don't hold me to this. Pretty soon this stock will have nothing whatsoever to do with the VSE. With all due respects to that great country, can't wait for that day!

If you want to build a large position I would suggest at least starting now, before the Fortenberry log results are announced. I would bet that the big sell orders will evaporate once such news is out and this will force you to keep jacking up the bid everytime you wanted to buy some stock.

It is impossible to either prove or disprove the "floor issue" prior to the SEC filing. If you are not willing to accept an undocumented representation by the company as to the number of shares they have out, which per my prior comment to Casey is almost inconceivable to be wrong, then you would probably be best off to wait for the SEC filing.

Who knows, the way the stock has languished in the face of other good news, maybe you'll have no problem doing your buying after the filing. In any event, the stock could double from here and still be an excellent medium to long term buy.
