I disagree with you on this one, but we shall see. I am playing it safe, I admit it.

But I win either way. If MSFT keeps going up, then my core holdings appreciate. If MSFT shares go down with the rest of the Market, then I get my Options opportunity.

The point here folks is that Option plays should be made ONLY WHEN THE DECK IS STACKED IN YOUR FAVOR. We get this environment every year with the annual MSFT split, and one or two other times with varying earnings announcements.

This is not about playing options with a 50/50 chance of victory. I like to make money, especially when its a gift. Remember, I am talking about my "trading" $$$ not my investment $$$. I have no problem keeping it in an all cash position until the Market gives me the entry point that I am looking for.
