Qcom invented and holds the patents on CDMA

Not that it's relevant to our discussion, but Qualcomm didn't invent CDMA. I've never seen who did, but it was developed for the military and is not a proprietary technology. Qualcomm's proprietary onwership is in their many innovations of CDMA. The Q already has over 200 patented innovations with a few hundred more under consideration if I remember correctly.
