Okay, I'll buy the "as if" character of your Lamarckianism, but then why insist that on things like the non- teleological nature of evolution. Aren't there other "as if"s that are fair?

To the extent you are saying context matters, you are absolutely correct. However we should be sure that we are all talking the same context, for jumping from context to context provides no understanding of the apples or the oranges.
