I think there is some substantial meat on the issue of the turn. The data of the last week has been skewed by end of quarter and end of fiscal year in japan. With the tax effect that henry mentioned, and the payroll and auction effects that Tim/Henry/others mentioned...I think that it's a tough job to truly understand whether they are being a little tighter or not. In other words, these above mentioned special effects put a certain demand on bank reserves...was the Fed's response a full response to those pressures, or did they hold back a little? I don't know the answer.

When Henry said that the moves of the last few weeks were non-spectacular, I would defer to his judgment.
