I currently work for a top ten semiconductor company and we pay WIND lots of money to port and optimize for our processors. We don't pay anyone else. The only 2 OS'es we supply are WinCE and VxWorks. There is definitely competition between the 2 in extremely high end embedded systems, but only in HPC's and sub-notebooks etc. In that space, these are the only dominant OSes. To make WinCE run on our chip is a multimillion dollar investment. I can and do modify bsp's for all of our processors in each family. Everytime we add a new family, we give WRS $500K to a $M or so to do the architechture port. VxWorks runs on about 40+ architectures, and it grows every year. WinCE only runs on about five, and they are not porting it anymore. They are having enough trouble maintaining these 5.

I stay in almost daily contact with many WIND employees, and I know that they will execute their plan (as described by IR) and increase their growth rate as this new paradigm (higher value added) emerges. The slew of new products that they are announcing along with the incredible demand for their services should make 40% growth easily attainable for the next 5 years. I bought another 1000 yesterday at 18 1/2 for 3200 shares, and I am scraping up cash to get some more.

GOING LONG!
