telos ... since I used it earlier Context is all important. Evolution in life and programs does seem to lead to greater complexity. Complexity, up to a point I suppose, seems to allow more flexibility in response, thereby better survival value. I know that even the simplest computer programs, over time seem to develop so many bells and whistles that it is hard to discern the original purpose. Often this is because the goal changes over time but it is easier to start with something that works and change it than it is to start from the beginning. TP
