Maybe they bought the in the open market because they knew they were going to do business with them in the future. A good will for future warrants and terrible business.

PPOD talk on yahoo about SWST accumulating large position:

Too Much At Stake?
by: nyfineman (30/M) 8593 of 8593
If SWST has taken in as much as we theorize (5 Million+ Shares), I think they may have too much at stake not to take the rest of the float. They were there at the bid at 10 15/16 all week, again. If they have as much as we theorize, you'd also have to assume they are in for the long haul, as selling such a large position would be very difficult and quickly self detrimental. Therefore, I see the positives of such a position extremely benificial. Another analyst recc, or big news, partner, or media coverage, could send us flying.
Also, wondering if anyone has any familiarity with or knows anything about the "Third Wave" group. I believe they are out of Texas, and are pushing the Pod in a big way. Wondering if there is a SWST connection? Here is there latest letter pushing the pod: 3rd-wave.com
