We know it as 'strong'. Those 'insiders' would actually get to see exactly how strong, including forward bookings. The most informative parts that we don't get to see but they do are the actual orders sales are working on that they expect to turn into actual bookings and also any future barn-burning products e.g. PSII status 6 months/ one year ago, that they are working on.

Boy would I love to be able to walk into the company headquarters and pick everybody's brains for a day or two. And that is precisely why those analysts get on the road so much - not just for the liquid lunches. And also why different investment houses seem to upgrade at definite but different times - that depends on the analysts travelling schedules.

And of course if the investment analysts are connected with investment houses that the company do businesses with - MM, convertible placements, extra stock offerings etc. they get the most accurate info.
