StarBase Releases Roundtable TSMS V9.0 for Progress Software Newest Release Integrates with Progress Version 9, Progress Open AppServer and Progress WebSpeed Version 3
SANTA ANA, Calif., April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- StarBase Corporation (Nasdaq: SBAS - news), a leading provider of Internet and intranet based technical collaboration products for web site application production and software configuration management (SCM), announced today the release of Roundtable Total Software Management System (TSMS) V9.0 for corporations using Progress® V9 in their development projects.
On January 25, 1999, Progress Software (Nasdaq: PRGS - news), a leading supplier of application development, deployment and management products, introduced their Progress Version 9, further extending their technology for multi-tier applications. The new Roundtable V9.0 release seamlessly integrates with the Progress development environment thereby providing an enterprise-class solution corporations need to control the costs of developing and maintaining large, complex client/server systems in a team environment. Roundtable's unique central repository-based architecture using the Progress database delivers a streamlined development process, improved product quality and automated application development.

Keeping in step with their product releases, we have released Roundtable TSMS V9.0 to consistently deliver a best-of-breed SCM solution for corporations developing applications using Progress.''
Michael Quattlebaum, product manager at Enterprise Computer Systems, Inc., stated, ''In a fast paced industry such as this, keeping our competitive edge is vital to the continued growth and success of the company. The major competitors we see in the industry are also selling Progress products; Enterprise has been fortunate to have Roundtable as our 'edge' in the marketplace. After implementation, we found that Roundtable provided us with the process and procedures to accomplish the clean, effective release we were looking for. The tool set provided by Roundtable performed well beyond our expectations.''
New Features in Roundtable TSMS V9.0
- An Application Programming Interface (API) that allows developers to integrate roundtable with third party applications such as help desk, change request, and other management tools.
- Support for WebSpeed 3 development, including an interface to move Progress 4GL objects from a workspace to a remote web-server.
- Event hooks to allow developers to enhance or override default behavior.
- New import filters for promoting changes through a development process based on tasks or modules rather than just by release.
- Management for AppServer Development by providing an interface tool and API to select and move source or object code to an AppServer partition (s). Automate the entire process to move source and object code to the appropriated AppServer partition(s) at check-in or compile-time using the Roundtable hooks and AppServer interface API.
