my best touchstone is that fact that I used to do software companies...quite a few, for years. I know how it works and doesn't work. And...it's an ugly joyous bug-ridden process. And projects finish late because they start late and "lines drawn in the sand" never work. Things take as long to do as...they do. Period. Happy talk and bonuses and deadlines never work. What I'm reading about the rate and % of remediation is just laughable.
