But as a mother, you do have to be so careful not to be offensive when you brag about your son's accomplishments.
ANd what about the siblings left at home? Trying to live up to this impossible legacy of their brother. She needed to be sensitive to their feelings.
Plus other moms are very ugly about kids who do better than theirs.
I'm sure they talked behind Mary's back.

As Jesus and his followers entered the little vilage, they heard angry noises coming from the center of the town near the communal well. A crowd surrounded the village prostitute.All held stones in their hands and were about to cast them at the unfortunate woman.
Jesus uttered his famous line:: " Let Ye who have not sinned, cast the first stone."
In a flash, a blue-dressed woman, heaved a stone, striking the unfortunate woman, the rest joined in.
Jesus took the initial stone-thrower to the side of the crowd, and said unto to her::" Mother, there are days when you really PISS me off!"
