I read that story line you're talking about. I believe Lucas said that one was a rumor that got spread around the net that someone made up. It was a good line though, Ben leaves Anakin in the volcano to die after they fight. Or something like Vader is thrown into a lava pit and left to die, but only his hatred keeps him alive. Another rumor is remember in the Cantina in Star Wars when Han Solo asks Ben "you never heard of the M. Falcon?" and Ben says, "should I have?" The rumor is that the Falcon was Ben's ship when he was a young man. Neat stuff huh.
