I use Datek and (cross my fingers) no problems. Sometimes they are slow on the Internet, but the average is good. They handled my transfer in without a problem. I also like them for their real time streaming quotes. It is free to members (about a $25-$30 a month feature). This is not a ticker tape streamer, but a screen with your selected stocks giving the bid/ask last price, volume, high/lows in a real time mode. A feature I enjoy and would not do without.

OT:<I need to find a new broker and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.>
I am currently trade with e-trade, Schwab and Waterhouse <G>, and my suggestion is Waterhouse, $12 by PC and $35 by phone. You can submit an order by PC then change this order by phone (in case you are away from PC), you paid only $12 (on line rate).
In the past I had the same problem that you did (Schwab => Waterhouse). You are so lucky that you did not have any options in your portfolio.
Good luck.
