Have you tried booting from floppy? Did you make an 'emergency' floppy?

I'm no expert here, BUT, as far as I know, a working copy of your registry was created when you system last ran correctly. If you're lucky, you may only need to copy a couple of files to get things working again. I think Win98 can do this automatically.

Anyway, what you need to do is get your system to boot and recognize its disks properly. Once hardware is working, you'll be able to address software problems.
