<<<Thread: Any options experts awake now that could point out a few good dell LEAP calls? The jan70's @2 look good but don't know if there is a lot of time decay with that leap.>>>
IMO:
1. You are talking the right stock at the right time.
2. I prefer the 2001 Leaps because they can be long term gains if held and you have nearly two years to recover in the (very)remote event of a bad year.
3. I would feel more comfortable with the Jan 2000 50's at $6
then with the 70's at $2.
Although Dell appears to be in the vicinity of $85 (make your own guess here)by expiration date, I would only need it to be at $56 to break even but the 70 call would need a stock price of $72.
However if Dell ended at $95 the 70 call would provide nearly double the % gain.
4. So perhaps I play these a bit safer and long term than most but would buy in following order.
a. 2001 70's at $7
b. 2000 55's at $6
c. 2000 70's at $2

michael....dell jan 70 @ 2...

if selling ok...if buying...look to earlier posts from wbm,pal and myself...use the purchase of calls as a stock replacement...not a speculation...70's cheap, can make a huge percentage gain...but also can lose if worthless at expiration...the posting you want to read is about wbm and april 32.5's...the concept is explained...good luck..

p.s. read dr gleitmans posting of a 50K loss by buying far out...
