athm and cmgi - both seem like they may be at the peak of their current runs, with known news discounted into valuations

cmgi has more of a variable in that it's an investor in startups, that's a dynamic that athm doesn't have both in risk and reward

i do think that it's getting harder for cmgi to find the kind of deals it found early on in lycos and geocities -- web startups are more expensive these days and competition for deals is greater

however, i think cmgi's record has been great and expect more good things from them

on @home the key to me is how at&t will market it .. it's really a marketing battle between @home and aol now
