Anna, I'll expand on sue's answer. At times in the past we have had a Zcontest. In the contest, each contestant picks two stocks, either long or short, that will be held for the duraton of the contest - usually about 6 weeks. Paul has been kind enuf to keep tabs of the results ongoing. At the end of the contest period, the person whose combined picks had the greatest percentage gain was the winner. Last time, Paul had an extra spot on his matrix, and entered a "dummy" pick under the name of his neighbors dog, and THE DOG"S PICKS WON- really.
Dan provided a gift certificate for dinner for the winner, I'm still working on him for a REAL Jensen.
This all contrasts with the Z portfolio which is a group effort and is actively or semi-actively traded.
The main benefits of the ZContest have been 1. throwing out of ideas, in the past many people who just lurk here have posted picks. and 2. boost the participation in the thread. larry
