Citrix Expands Global Business Alliance Program With Addition of SAP

Companies to Promote Combined Benefits of SAP R/3 Solutions and Citrix Server-Based Computing Software

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 1999--Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS - news) today announced that SAP America, a leading provider of enterprise client/server business solutions, has joined the Citrix Business Alliance (CBA) program. Citrix and SAP America will globally promote Citrix MetaFrame(TM) and WinFrame® server-based computing software as a cost-effective and high-performance way to deploy and manage SAP(TM) R/3® enterprise business solutions across extended enterprises. Citrix MetaFrame and WinFrame server-based computing software enable SAP customers such as Mott's Inc., a major producer of apple juice and applesauce, to rapidly deploy business-critical applications while saving time and money.

''Citrix server-based computing software enables global customers such as Mott's to rapidly and cost-effectively deploy their SAP solutions across the enterprise,'' said Barry Davis, director of alliance marketing for Citrix. ''The inclusion of SAP America, the largest enterprise applications vendor in the world, to our Business Alliance program demonstrates growing support for server-based computing. Through this relationship, Citrix and SAP will focus on meeting customer needs for high-performance access to business-critical SAP R/3 solutions across large enterprises.''

Mott's North America installed the SAP graphical user interface (GUI) on Citrix WinFrame to provide remote access to its SAP solution. Three Mott's distribution centers use WinFrame to access SAP solutions over frame relay connections, while telecommuters, key business users and IT support personnel use dial-up links.

''WinFrame is the only client software we need to provide to users in our distribution centers,'' said Domenic Verrastro, director, computer services for Mott's. ''WinFrame's centralized management allows us to quickly and easily deploy SAP GUI upgrades and new applications on the server. It also reduces support requirements, while enabling us to use just about any type of client device. At Mott's, we enjoy a definite competitive advantage. Thanks to our use of Citrix WinFrame and SAP solutions, we've become better knowledge managers.''
