tom,

i agree that the e*offering concept is a great way for etrade to acquire new customers.....since this new co. will underwrite new offerings, im hoping it will allow etrade to have access to 1 million shares instead of 50,000.....maybe we will have more than a few minutes to get in our IOI's in the future.....although etrade will get many new customers, their ultimate goal of getting us to spend alot of money on their other future services(other than trading commissions) will prob. not be realized.....with basic programs like MS Money, we dont even need a financial planner anymore(most of us anyways).....ultimately, the internet craze will be officially over when internet ipo's fail to explode on the first day....that will be the first sign.....which will prob. occur within 1-2 yrs.....but until then, we need to milk every internet stock for all its worth cause you never know when this oppurtunity will arise again.

Tom,
As long as the internet-craze continues... we stand to make alot of money through the IPO scheme. I told my friends an analogy that the internet IPOS were like going to Vegas and finding a roulette table where all the numbers are black... Since E*trade will be offering E*offering IPOS to etrade customers, read follows:

E*TRADE GROUP LAUNCHES E-COMMERCE INVESTMENT BANK WITH
PROMINENT GROUP OF INVESTORS, INCLUDING SANDY ROBERTSON
E*TRADE's Customers To Get Direct Access To Up To Half Of Every IPO
Issued Through E*OFFERING

What new restrictions will go into effect, in terms of holding onto the IPOS. Lately I've been dumping almost every IPO I've attained the first day of trade due to meteoric rises. I would assume they would have a much tighter policy enforcing the pump and dump. I've asked E*offering for as much information as possible. I will let this board know if I discover anything.
