<<they have always viewed the Greeks and Americans as their friends -- they simply do not understand the actions we are taking today -- it makes no sense to an average Serb.>>

I quote my last post. It seems outrageous to me, and I think it seems outrageous to most people, to hold an entire group of people as guilty for crimes they were not responsible for. Especially in the case of Germany, where most of the population wasnt even born yet. To Americans, I hope, this seems silly. Collective guilt is irrational.

<To be more blunt -- Croats and Muslims joined The Third Reich
Serbs were Allies with USA. >

I appreciate you knowledge of the history of the region. However, I would like to clarify a few important points that you have left our.

The Croats and Muslims did not join the Third Reich. When Germany invaded Yugoslavia, Croatia was simultaneously fighting for its own country. With Germany's assistance it was granted its own Country, albeit for a short period and it was a German "puppet state". However, Croatia did not have much of a choice. "lesser of two evils" maybe. Side with the Germans or side with the communists whom they were trying to escape from since WW1.

The were two other army's battling for control. The Serbian Chetniks, who like the Croatians were nationalists fighting for their own country. They "sided" with the allies in so much as they were fighting against the Germans.

There was another battle raging. You had the Yugoslav Communists, made up of both Serbians and Croatians (remember Tito was a Croatian communist) fighting for a unified communist Yugoslavia. They were fighting the Chetniks as well as the Croats.

Sorry for being so long winded. I believe the above is important because in Yugoslavia today, you are dealing with "Chetniks" who are serbian nationalists fighting for a "greater serbia". I appreciate the right for independence but not at the costs of Croats and Muslims.

You cannot compare the Communists of WWII with todays Yugoslavs, "Serbs". They are two different political forces and motivations.

If I am factually incorrect in a aspect I welcome your information and/or opinion.

P.S. By accussing WWII Croats of the same massacres as the Nazi's, this is "guilt by association" - IMO. For Gods sake, the Americans were allied with the Soviet Union and Stalin, does this mean we are guilty of the same atrocities committed by that regime.
